If you have a tenancy where we provide extra services, your weekly rent will include a service charge. Services may include: Cleaning of common parts, lighting of common parts, TV aerials, door entryphone systems, gardening, lift maintenance and fire alarm systems.
We calculate service charges by dividing the annual cost of each service into a weekly or monthly charge and by the number of homes in that property. Service charge schedules for leaseholders are calculated on the area of their homes in relation to the overall property.
The full list of services will be in the service charge schedule for your block. Ask your housing officer if you would like a copy of this.
Tenants are normally responsible for paying water rates directs to the Thames Water Authority. We may collect water rates on behalf of tenants living in blocks of flats with only one water meter. This will show on your service charge schedule.
